Article 10 - Reviewing the Sales Year and taking advantage of December 2011 - Retail

Selling from a Retail point of view is all about the following:

      1. Higher customer service than your competitors between now and Christmas
      2. Making suggestions and helping out with additional  Christmas purchases that the customer needs to make
      3. High motivation and confidence in product knowledge and assuming the sale every time!

In Retail selling it is also all about the “now” factor, as well as, outstanding customer service, motivation and suggested choices, is what the customer is looking for.  To win more sales; providing options and making suggestions along the way, using good closing techniques will wow the customer and grow your sales.  The goal is to up sell and cross sell products thoroughly which will lead the customer to the counter every time.

Suggestions to get those deals over the line

      • If I could offer you……
      • Today’s promotion, we are offering……
      • Due to high demand, we only have a few of these left, would you like me to check if we have one in stock out the back?
      • We just had a customer in just like you and this is what they bought…..
      • How about I take this product to the counter for you while you decide on …….

The Christmas rush is always a hard time for everyone, both retailers and customers.  The easier you make it for the customer the more they will purchase from you.  Do not allow you or your staff to lose their motivation in serving customers.  Customers need to be told they are making the right choice and your staff need to be there for them.
